What coffee maker would be recommended to a anti-coffee lover?

Hi, umm i’m looking to give coffee another try and was hoping to get a recommendation on the best coffee maker out there for a total noob on coffee. Maybe something suitable for a dorm room, easy to clean, and makes great coffee.
P.S. Always wanted to look cool drinking coffee and reading. >.<
French Press is my favorite. You’d need a microwave or an electric kettle to heat the water in a dorm room. A regular drip brewer would probably be easier in that situation.
More important than how it’s brewed, though, is the coffee itself. Without having any idea where you are, it’s hard to make a recommendation. Expect to pay between $10-15 per pound (or up) for good coffee.
If your area doesn’t have good tap water, make sure to use filtered or bottled water when brewing coffee.
